Security

1. Partnered with the Town to add Student Resource Officers on every school campus.
2. Installed new security vestibules at each of our five schools.
3. Implemented the Sandy Hook Promise anonymous tip line.
4. Added security during after-school hours.

Curriculum

1. Implemented new programs such as Fundations, Heggerity, Reading and Writing Workshop, Writing Revolution.
2. Added 6th grade foreign language class.
3. Introduced FLES for elementary students. 
4. Implemented “Algebra for More” program for 8th graders.
5. Instituted the departmentalization of ELA and Math for 5th graders to better prepare students for Middle School.
6. Added WIN period for K-5 students. Implemented Junior Great Books program for Waverly and Anne Hutchinson. 
7.  Added a new Study Skills class for 6th graders.

Technology

1. Fully refreshed 100% of classrooms with state-of-the-art interactive displays.
2. Installed electronic door locks on every exterior door and every interior hallway door district-wide with an integrated lockdown protocol.
3. Provided touchscreen laptops to all teachers capable of wireless duplication to classroom displays in order to facilitate a more versatile and mobile teaching experience.
4. Launched a new district website with both streamlined content and modernized feel.
5. Implemented new communication platform, ParentSquare, to allow for easier communication between district staff and our community members.

Guidance Department & College and Career Preparation

1. Hiring an additional High School guidance counselor for the 2024-2025 school year.
2. Engaged Tristate Consultants to fully evaluate and make improvements to our High School guidance department.
3. Opened up regents and AP classes to more students.
4. Hired a K-12 Director of Guidance for the 2024-2025 school year.
5. Increased the number of students eligible to participate in the BOCES program.

DEI

1. Adopted Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) goals and established five building level-DEI committees.

Social Emotional Learning and Mental Health

1. Partnered with the Town’s Care Coalition to form a Mental Health and Wellness Committee.
2. Added Flexible Support programs at the Middle School and High School for students struggling with mental health issues.
3. Implementing Yale’s RULER Program to address students’ social and emotional needs.
4. Adopted a school assembly policy to ensure that all five schools in the District provide appropriate assemblies that focus on a holistic approach to educating our students.

Facilities and Athletics

1. Erected new playgrounds for Waverly, Anne Hutch and Greenvale schools.
2. Partnered with Eastchester Little League to improve the softball field at Anne Hutch and create a baseball field at Waverly.
3. Installed digital signs in front of EHS and EMS.
4. Approved the purchase of new uniforms for band and athletics.
5. Improved lighting, hours, and security for the High School track.
6. Formed an Athletic Council, consisting of District Administrators, the Town’s Supervisor of Parks and Recreation and parents to develop a five-year strategic plan to improve athletics.
7. Approved creation of Varsity Girls Flag Football team, as well as Unified Basketball and Bowling teams.
8. Added HUDL and Local Live for sports streaming.
9. Re-instituted “Homecoming Under the Lights” in Fall 2023.
10. New dugouts and scoreboards for EHS baseball and softball fields.
11. Fixed EHS baseball and softball fields to improve irrigation and drainage.
12. New visitor stands for the EHS football/soccer field.
13. New Athletic training room equipment.

Budget and Personnel

1. Approved an annual budget with no school tax increase for Town residents for the 2023-2024 school year.
2. Added literacy and math coaches to support teachers.
3. Hired additional AIS support staff at Anne Hutch and Greenvale.
4. Hired a specialized reading teacher, trained in dyslexia, for EHS.
5. Hired Eastchester’s first Assistant Athletic Director.
6. Added more co-teaching classes for EHS.
7. Added additional Foreign Language teachers.
8. Created joint BOE/Administration retreats to discuss district-wide goals.
9. Started the first annual BOE Administrator Appreciation luncheon.

Increased Board Transparency and Communication

1. Held BOE Coffee and Conversations to allow for direct parent input.
2. Increased community surveys (i.e. board initiatives, curriculum programs, solar eclipse, high school principal search).
3. More opportunities for community participation (i.e. DEI committees, Athletic Council, Tri-State visit, K-12 Guidance Advisory Council).
