A Message from Dr. Villanueva: Celebrating the End to the School Year

Dear Members of the Eastchester School Community,

As we close out another incredible school year and officially welcome summer, I find myself filled with gratitude, pride, and appreciation for all that we have accomplished together.

This final week of school has been one of much to celebrate. Across our four campuses, we gathered for moving-up ceremonies, awards presentations, and graduation exercises that reminded us just how special the EUFSD truly is. These moments are filled with emotion because they represent so much more than a ceremony or a diploma. They represent years of hard work, perseverance, friendships, growth, and countless memories. They are a reminder of the extraordinary things that happen when students are supported by caring families, dedicated educators, and an entire community that believes in the power of public education.

To our students…congratulations! You have worked hard all year long, and now it is finally time to put away the backpacks, close the Chromebooks, finish those last exams, and run into summer. May the weeks ahead bring you time to relax, recharge, make memories with family and friends, and enjoy all the simple joys that summertime brings.

As we celebrate the end of another successful year, and take great pride in the many accomplishments and achievements of our district, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our administrators, faculty, and Board of Education for their unwavering commitment to making Eastchester a district of excellence. Thank you for maintaining high expectations for our students and for never settling for less than what our children deserve. Your dedication to continuous improvement and your belief in every student's potential continue to elevate our schools and inspire our entire community.

No school district succeeds because of one person or one group alone. It truly takes an entire community working together, and I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the many individuals whose contributions often happen quietly behind the scenes but are absolutely essential to our success.

• Monitors and Aides, who support students with kindness and care every day.

 

• Substitute Teachers and Staff, who step in whenever needed and ensure continuity for our students

 

• Coaches, athletic trainers, and the entire Athletic Department, who teach our students the values of teamwork, resilience, discipline, and sportsmanship while creating lifelong memories on our fields, courts, tracks, and stages of competition.

 

• Volunteers, who generously share their time and talents to enrich our schools.

 

• Faculty and Teaching Assistants, who inspire, challenge, and support our students every single day.

 

• Custodians and Maintenance Teams, who work tirelessly to provide safe, clean, and beautiful learning environments.

 

• Cafeteria and Food Service Staff, who serve our students and greet them with warm smiles.

 

• Bus Drivers and Crossing Guards, who safely transport our children to and from school

 

• School Resource Officers and Security Personnel, who help ensure our schools remain safe and welcoming places to learn.

 

• Community Partners and Organizations, whose support strengthens our programs and opportunities

 

• PTA Leaders and Volunteers, whose energy and generosity enrich every corner of our schools.

 

• Technology Department, who keep our systems running and our classrooms connected.

 

• And the many, many hands…seen and unseen…that make a school district like Eastchester such an extraordinary place.

 

As we conclude another remarkable year, I wish all of our students, families, faculty, staff, and community members a safe, restful, and joyful summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories.
