A Message from Dr. Villanueva: Spring is Here & Budget Reminders

Dear Eastchester Faculty, Families, and Community,

As we move into the weekend, there is much to be thankful for. The beautiful weather has expedited the blossoming of our flowers and trees (and allergies) that paint my landscape as I drive between schools. And perhaps what has been most endearing this week is just how many students have notified me that they are so happy to be out for recess everyday! It’s the little things that make our days bright!

With much going on in our district, our schools are busy getting ready for upcoming performances, celebrations, ceremonies and culminating academic challenges. I look forward to attending many of these events in the coming weeks and I send positive vibes to our families and students as they continue to study and prepare for end of year academic markers.

Budget Related Reminders

The next regularly scheduled BOE meeting on April 21 will take place at 7:30PM in the EHS library. I will be presenting an updated Superintendent’s Proposed 2026-2027 Budget that evening to the Board of Education. As I am now two weeks into my listening tour since my last presentation, I would like to thank parents, community members, and alumni for providing feedback and asking questions. I encourage our community to read this week’s articles that follow below!  I will work with our team to continually update the FAQ page to share information for those who were not able to attend an in person meeting so the information is available to the entire community. Lastly, here is the upcoming schedule as the budget process continues:

Tuesday, April 21 - Regularly scheduled BOE meeting - Updated Proposed Budget will be presented by the Superintendent.

Tuesday, May 5 - Public Budget Hearing, EHS Library

Tuesday, May 19 - Budget Vote - Polls Open 6AM-9PM
