A Message from EUFSD Superintendent Dr. Alison Villanueva

A Message from EUFSD Superintendent Dr. Alison Villanueva

Dear Members of the Eastchester School Community,

It is with great happiness that I write my first message to you just before the long weekend. It has been a welcoming and productive first few days in the district!

In the coming weeks, and over the course of my time here in Eastchester, I am eager to meet as many members of the Eastchester faculty and community as possible. I will be hosting ‘Conversations Over Coffee’ and a ‘What’s up Doc?’ tour as we get closer to the start of the new school year as meet-and-greet opportunities. The voice of our school community and stakeholders is extremely important to me as your new Superintendent.

Being able to listen to the experiences, hopes and dreams, and goals of the people of our district is an integral part of my on-boarding process, and one that will help me gain a deeper understanding of where we have been and where we are headed as a district.

It is an understatement to say that it is a privilege to be able to continue the good work of the district that has taken place over these past few years through the Board of Education’s strategic plan. As we move into the 2025-2026 academic year and this next phase of growth, I am energized and committed to work hand-in-hand with our board trustees, administrators, faculty, students, and community to begin to shape my superintendent’s priorities to fulfill our district goals as outlined in the BOE strategic plan and serve the Eastchester community as the leader of your school district.

And so, I very much look forward to all of the conversations I will soon have with various stakeholders to learn more about our district’s needs, traditions, and shining highlights that make us so proud!

Although summer break is in session, the school district remains open and busy at work. I visited Greenvale on my first day to see students actively engaged in the fun of summer school activities. And, it is reassuring to see construction at EHS and Anne Hutch already well underway. Today, I look forward to visiting Waverly, where our Extended School year (ESY) programs are off to a great start.

Eastchester, I wish you all a relaxing and joyful fourth with friends and family.

Sincerely,

Dr. V
