Adrienne Reilly Notches 100th Career Goal

Adrienne Reilly Notches 100th Career Goal

With just a handful of games left to go in the regular season, senior lacrosse standout Adrienne Reilly put an

exclamation mark on her already stellar career, scoring her 100th varsity goal on Tuesday afternoon.

Reilly—who has been on the team since her freshman year—reached the milestone in a 9-8 Eagles win over visiting Croton-Harmon May 6, putting her in elite company with some of the brightest stars in the program’s history. But despite being such a prolific scorer throughout her time with Eastchester, Reilly admitted that she wasn’t quite sure that her milestone goal was headed for the history books the second the ball left her stick.

“The shot was iffy; I wasn’t certain it was going in since I didn’t have a great view of the goal,” she said. “But as soon as I saw it hit the net, I exploded with joy.”

The senior captain said she first began to think about reaching the 100-goal mark in her sophomore year, when then-teammate Emma Kelly accomplished the same feat, piquing her interest.

“It felt like such a relief, as it was something I have been looking forward to since the end of last season when I realized I was getting close,” said Reilly.  “It was the greatest feeling ever being surrounded by and celebrating with my teammates who have become some of my best friends.”

Reilly added that although her time as an EHS student-athlete isn’t quite at an end—the Eagles have four more regular season games in the next week before the Class C playoffs begin—she has already begun to reflect on her time donning the red white and blue of Eastchester’s sports teams.

“Now that my high school sports career is wrapping up, I have learned so much from Eastchester High School sports, especially lacrosse,” she said. “I have made so many amazing friends and met so many amazing people throughout my experience. I am still great friends with girls who were seniors when I was a freshman, and enjoy being a positive influence on our underclassmen now.”

“Being a part of the sports community at Eastchester is such a great way to meet new people,” she added. “Once you’re on the Varsity lacrosse team, you are automatically part of a family. Once we are in-season, these girls are your sisters through thick and thin!”
