Rescheduled Fall Festival Celebrates Eastchester Community

Rescheduled Fall Festival Celebrates Eastchester Community

A Saturday nor’easter wasn’t enough to dampen the spirit of Eastchester!

On Wednesday afternoon, the EHS Multicultural Club held its Fall Festival, a true celebration of the Eastchester community. Food, music, and games—along with booths run by student clubs and the ever-popular ‘Pie-a-Teacher’ attraction—were all on the docket, as Eastchester turned out to show off its community pride.

The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, but had to be rescheduled for Wednesday afternoon after inclement weather and a State of Emergency declaration by New York State Governor Kathy Hochul put a temporary pause on the festivities.

The event raised roughly $2,000 dollars for retired EHS teacher Ed Gruber, a beloved member of the Eastchester community who was injured in a bicycle accident on July 24. The money will go to support Ed and his family in this difficult time.

Gruber's tireless enthusiasm and passion for Eastchester were certainly honored on Wednesday, as students and staff turned out en masse to support the Fall Festival, knowing it is one of the educator's favorite events of the year.
