Tatiana Alexander Becomes First-Ever Eastchester Wrestling State Champ

On Thursday evening, EHS junior Tatiana Alexander made school history, becoming the first-ever Eastchester wrestler to be crowned a state champion.

Competing at the NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling State Tournament in Albany, NY, the top-seeded Alexander stormed through the 94-pound bracket, ultimately earning a hard-fought 2-0 victory over No. 2 seed and Section 8 champ Pearl Jewett in the finals.

Alexander placed fifth at states in 2025, but came into this season with her eyes set firmly on the top prize. She shined throughout the year, cruising to a Section 1 crown on Feb. 8 and finishing the campaign with a 19-4 record. She was Section 1’s lone champion at the event.
