Dear Parent/Guardian and Student,

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, we would like to welcome you to Eastchester Middle School!  As you will come to learn, the mission statement of Eastchester Middle School states that we are committed to providing a rigorous academic program within a safe, supportive, and understanding learning community.  Our goal is to allow our students the room they need to grow with the support necessary to be successful.  Middle school is a time of increasing expectations that allow students the chance to learn more about themselves and foster the values of independence, respect and self-discipline.

The transition from elementary to middle school is an exciting time for students filled with academic, social and emotional changes.  For many students, their middle school years are times of significant growth and maturity as they bridge the gap between their elementary and high school experiences.  It is our philosophy that through a strong parent-school partnership we can strive to have each middle school student feel prepared for their transition to High School.  Together, we can greatly enhance each student’s comfort level with this transition by equipping them with skills and strategies necessary to be successful.
