This year the EHS Eastchester Government Organization (EGO) supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month when it hosted a “Real Kids Wear Pink” event.
Students sold pink colored face masks during the week of October 19th and accepted community donations through its website. The group raised $2265 and sold 650 face covers.
On October 22nd and 23rd, EGO officers encouraged staff and students to wear pink to show support for those battling breast cancer.
“The turnout was great,” said sophomore Kendall Murtha. “This event was so inspiring, and it was great to know that EGO was helping to donate to such an important cause and help people in need. Wearing pink and seeing all of our friends dresses up was fun, and we hope to host this event again.”
Eastchester Middle School joined the cause and raised $140 selling masks and accepting donations.
