2021 Scholastic Art Awards

Congratulations to the following Advanced Art and AP Art students for their achievements in the 2021 Scholastic Art Awards. This year seven students were recognized for both singular artworks and two students received the prestigious Portfolio Award for a collection of six thematic artworks.

Joe Cartolano received the highest regional recognition, a Gold Key Portfolio Award in Jewelry, and will continue to the next round of judging for national recognition. He also was awarded two Honorable Mentions and two Gold Keys for singular artworks in Jewelry.

Jessica Coghlan: Honorable Mention Portfolio Award and a Gold Key and Silver Key Award for singular artworks in Mixed Media.

Kate Diamantidis: Honorable Mention and Gold Key award for singular artworks in Painting.

Lauren Nurzia: Gold Key award in Painting.

Cindy Pepaj: Honorable Mention in Painting.

Jessica Siciliano: Honorable Mention and a Silver Key Award for singular artworks in Mixed Media.

Kanaho Uesada: Honorable Mention and a Silver Key Award for singular artworks in Expanded Projects.

"Our entire department is thrilled to have such an abundance of artwork in so many different disciplines recognized by Scholastic this year," said Eastchester Art Department Chairperson Rachel Sydlowski.  "The responsibility of documenting their artworks and creating portfolios while attending school virtually or hybrid adds special meaning to these achievements. The recent accolades highlight the strength of our program and confirm what we already know, that we have very talented and dedicated students in our District."
