Eastchester Environmental Committee to Host 12th Annual Green Festival
Attention all Eastchester Union Free School District students, parents, and staff!
Celebrity chefs will demonstrate sustainable vegetarian cooking at Eastchester’s 12th Annual Green Festival on October 16.
Vegetable creations will be on the menu with chefs Anita Rosner, host of the YouTube channel “At Home with Anita,” and Wendy McLaughlin Pregiato, a popular cooking teacher and host of the Facebook page “Eastchester Eats.” Also demonstrating will be Jane Ziegelman, author of “97 Orchard” and an authority on historical recipes.
The Green Festival will feature a variety of local organizations dedicated to living in harmony with the environment and heading off climate change. These include:
- The Healthy Yards organization, which will demonstrate ecological practices for homeowners and gardeners.
- Food scrapping experts who will introduce Eastchester to Food Recycling. Eastchester is set to join 22 other Westchester municipalities that collect food scraps, with a collection point on Farella Way.
- Westchester County officials will discuss the Recycle Right campaign and how 92% of recyclables are truly recycled.
The day's festivities will also include a Pumpkin Decorating Workshop for kids!
The event will be held outdoors at Town Hall, 40 Mill Road in Eastchester on Saturday, October 16, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, rain or shine!
